You should definitely read the original, traditional books! BanterBox, however, gives you another way to experience the same stories we all love, adding another layer of understanding and appreciation of these classic works.

Just like watching a movie adaptation of a classic novel offers another way to enjoy the story, BanterBox adds to our ability to enjoy and understand truly fantastic storytelling.

Can I do anything in the book just by saying so?

While BanterBox lets you interact extensively with characters and make choices that shape the narrative, the experience isn’t limitless.

 

The more your interactions and decisions remain within the context and logic of the story, the better the characters and stories will understand you and respond in ways that make sense.

Get writer’s block? You can hit the “Generate Response” button to ask the AI to suggest a response for you; or if you’re at a loss for words, you can always “Remain Silent” and let the story continue.

Are BanterBox titles original or adaptations?

Currently, BanterBox offers immersive adaptations of classic literature available in the public domain. Our initial catalog includes Pride and Prejudice and the Sherlock Holmes novel, The Hound of the Baskervilles.

We’ve started with public domain stories for several reasons.

 

First, these stories are timeless and adapting these classic stories to a new form of storytelling just seems right.

​

Second, we are committed to ethical AI, and that means respecting creators who have protected their works with copywrite. We hope in the future to add more recent stories to our library by working with writers and creators to explore this new form of storytelling.

We are working hard to expand our library. We also plan to introduce a feature that allows readers to create their own original interactive narratives as well!
